Capture of Jerusalem

The prophetic significance of Jerusalem's

Jerusalem Restored to Israel

Matthew 24:15 speaks of the Abomination of Desolation spoken of by Daniel the Prophet (Daniel 9:27, 11:31, and 12:11) which we know takes place mid-way through the Tribulation. It’s an event that can only occur in Jerusalem; therefore, Matthew 24:15 presumes the restoration of Jerusalem to Israeli control - which, of course, occurred in 1967 during the Six Day War. It was a wonder that few could have imagined: nineteen years after Israel's restoration in 1948, Jerusalem, which had remained under Jordaniean sovereignty, was captured by Israel and made its capital. It's obvious that a miracle orchestrated by God himself has taken place; that God has broken back into history through the agency of his chosen people, Israel.
